Here is super simple and refreshing recipe for birch and ginger infused water that helps you to detox your body naturally! Really good way to hydrate your body and this is great for you non-water lovers out there because the ginger, citrus and birch flavor the water. I added some raw honey this time to add some sweetness, but I think it’s nice and fresh also without it. I really love to make infused waters, because fresh fruits, berries and herbs add nice taste to the water. There are tons of options to add your infused water, some of my favorites ingredients are mint, ginger, lemon, raspberries, birch and cherries.
Ginger – Helps with gastrointestinal symptoms and nausea. Ginger is also very anti-inflammatory and has immune boosting action that can help with colds and flus.
Lemon – Is good source of vitamin C. Vitamin C neutralizes free radicals in your body and is vital to the function of a strong immune system. Lemons contain phytonutrients with antioxidant and antibiotic effects.
Birch – Stimulates the cleansing systems of the body and helps to eliminate toxins. Birch helps your kidney and liver functions and is naturally diuretic.
Raw Honey – It has anti-inflammatory effects and ability to soothe coughs. Antioxidants of the honey help to protect your body from cell damage due to free radicals.
BIRCH & GINGER INFUSED WATER
- 2-3 cm ginger
- 1 tsp honey
- Spring water or purified water
- 1 Handful of Fresh birch leaves
- Juice of half a lemon
- Peel and slice ginger and place inside of a pitcher with birch leaves. Add water, honey and lemon juice. Use the back end of a wooden spoon and smash the ingredients to release some flavor.
- Refrigerate for a hour to allow ingredients to release more flavor to the water.
